Zen Interactive Technologies has been appointed a distributor for YMTC in the UAE and GCC, bringing YMTC’s SSDs and embedded memory to resellers, system builders and device makers in the region.
YMTC is one of a handful of companies worldwide that design and fabricate their own 3D NAND flash. Its Xtacking architecture bonds the memory array and the logic circuitry on separate wafers, which is how it reaches high interface speeds and density without trading off endurance. YMTC builds its NAND into client SSDs and into embedded memory – eMMC and UFS – for tablets, set-top boxes, IoT and industrial devices.
Memory pricing moves weekly and supply is allocated. Zen handles allocation, pricing and support locally: registering projects to hold allocation and pricing while a deal closes, holding fast-moving capacities in Dubai, supporting embedded and OEM programmes with samples and qualification, and handling warranty and RMA from Dubai. The YMTC lines – SSD and Embedded Memory – are being loaded to the catalogue.
For system builders and OEMs in the region, product that comes from the company that fabricates the NAND, through a distributor with a direct line to the manufacturer, is the difference between a quote that can be honoured and one that cannot.
