Netac Storage Solutions: From USB Drives to Enterprise SSDs

Netac is one of the longer-established flash storage brands, with a catalogue that runs from a USB stick to an enterprise SSD. For a business, that breadth is useful: one supplier for the drives in the PCs, the memory in the servers, the cards in the cameras and the portable storage for the field team. This article maps the range to the jobs a business needs done.

USB flash drives

Still the simplest way to move a file, boot an installer or hand a presentation to a client. Netac’s USB 3.x drives come in metal and plastic housings, capacities from 32 GB to 512 GB, and dual USB-A/USB-C models for phones and modern laptops. For IT teams, a standard model bought in quantity is the sensible approach: consistent performance for imaging and recovery media, and a known part to replace.

Memory cards

SD, SDXC and microSD cards for cameras, dash cams, body cameras, tablets and Raspberry Pi-class devices. The specification that matters is the speed class (V30 or V60 for 4K video) and, for surveillance and dash cams that write continuously, a high-endurance card rather than a consumer one. Netac makes both; buy the endurance-rated card for anything that records around the clock.

Portable SSDs

Pocket-sized USB-C drives with 500 MB/s to 1,000 MB/s transfer rates, for field engineers, media teams and anyone who moves large data sets between machines. Faster and far more robust than a portable hard drive, and small enough to lose, so encrypt them.

Internal SSDs

  • 2.5-inch SATA – the upgrade path for older desktops, laptops and servers. Any PC still on a hard drive becomes usable again with one.
  • M.2 NVMe – PCIe 3.0 and 4.0 drives for modern PCs and laptops; the default for new builds. Netac’s mainstream NVMe line covers 256 GB to 2 TB with DRAM-less and DRAM-cached models; choose DRAM-cached for workstations and small servers.
  • Enterprise SATA and NVMe – drives with higher endurance ratings and power-loss protection for servers, NAS units and recorders.

DRAM

DDR4 and DDR5 modules for desktops and laptops. Memory upgrades are the cheapest performance improvement available for an office fleet; taking an 8 GB laptop to 16 GB often extends its life by two years. Buy the speed the system supports and, for kits, matched pairs.

Matching products to jobs

Job Product
Refresh an office PC fleet M.2 NVMe or 2.5-inch SATA SSDs, plus DRAM to 16 GB
Extend laptop life DRAM upgrade and SATA or NVMe SSD
Surveillance and dash cams High-endurance microSD
Field engineers, media teams Portable SSD
Installer and recovery media Standardised USB 3.x drives
Small servers and NAS Enterprise SATA or NVMe with power-loss protection

Buying for a business

Standardise. Choose one model for each job and buy it consistently so that support, imaging and spares are simple. Check warranty terms per product class. Register serial numbers if the products are issued to staff. Encrypt portable devices with BitLocker To Go or the equivalent.
